Tiny Fighters: Frisky & Colby

A rescuer was informed about kittens found in an industrial area, abandoned. My friend who fosters them told me about the rescue that they planned and she was looking for others who were willing to help her care for them while thy recover and while she looks for a keen adopter to the babies.

Myself being an owner of two cats, I cared for them since they were very young. So she was confident that I could provide them with a safe foster home. My family and I were so excited for their arrival. We felt that our two older cats grew up too fast, how time flies. It wasn't a while ago since they were babies. So, we did have the resources to care for kittens.

When they arrived my place, I couldn't wait to set eyes on them. I knew I'd love them with all my heart. Even though, them staying with us was temporary. When they both hopped out of their travelling bag, our eyes met. They were extremely tiny, bone-like and I even noticed how one of them have a little swollen eye.

My heart broke a little. Despite their condition, they were still hopping around and playing with the toys I put out for them. My older cats were obviously jealous. They sat from afar and watched as the kittens played with THEIR toys. I noticed how every time they come eye to eye, the tiny ones would be the first to hiss or growl.

As I spoke to my friend, she mentioned how they were found and how their mother was eaten by dogs and they were left alone to fend for themselves. I was crushed. They went through so much, but at least they have each other.

While they were in my care, I made sure they received the same amount of care and love they would have gotten from their late mother, even though it will never be the same. After a while, I got to know them better and their personalities. They are lovely.

Colby

Colby has a twisted tail, almost like a piglet. It looks very short and tiny and it is super adorable when he wags it every time he gets excited and while he is playing with just about anything. Eventually they don't play with the toys I provide them. Just the little things like crumpled paper or our tissue papers. Even strings we tie onto our furniture for the big boys to play with.

Colby loves to cuddle. He would love to sleep on your tummy and would also love to sleep and play in your laundry basket. He is the strongest between the both of them. He was named after the American MMA fighter, Colby Covington, for being the fighter that he is. Even when things are down, he is the most cheeriest, happy-go-lucky, littlest guy I've ever seen.

When his brother, Frisky gets sick or feels sad, he would play with him anyway and it would always make Frisky feel better. What are they going to do without each other?

Frisky

Frisky got his name from being always so full of energy. He's brave and such a sweetheart. He sometimes does or eats things that can make him sick but luckily for him we're always there to care for him. His tail is longer compared to Colby and he loves wagging it. Colby loves chasing after it and biting it (normal cats stuff, right?)

Same as Colby, they are very grateful, sweetest precious darlings and it is really an honor to be able to care for them. It's been a few weeks now, and I've seen how much they've grown and changed from the first time we met. They are healthy, handsome and just, amazing!

Now they get along very well with the big boys. Here is a photo of Colby napping with Coco and Leo grooming him:

Frisky also gets along well with them. He enjoys chasing after and away from them and  trying to catch their long tails. They're happy here.

Every now and then, my siblings would tell me to not let someone else take them away from us, and that we should adopt them. I do wonder sometimes, what it would be like if I agreed to adopting them. I love them so much but I'm worried I might not be able to care for them in the long run.

I hope this story was able to inspire you. That no matter how hard life is, you should always get back up on your feet and keep going, because you'll never know what good opportunities you might miss out on if you don't keep going.
